Glad that Odisha Among Best States in Fiscal Governance in Country: Naveen 

Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Leader of Opposition in Assembly Naveen Patnaik on Friday expressed his happiness as Odisha has emerged as one of the best states in fiscal governance in the country as per the new report by policy think tank NCAER.

Naveen said that the prudent economic management has placed Odisha among the best states in fiscal management in the country.

From a precarious fiscal situation during the end of the last century to one of the best fiscally managed state now, is truly a 5T transformative journey, which will continue to benefit Odisha, for years to come, the BJD President said.

Odisha has charted this remarkable turnaround from a perennially revenue deficit and fiscally stressed state to achieve best Debt-to-GSDP Ratio in 2022-23, which has been possible due to prudent financial management and visionary policy making.

The astute fiscal management has allowed the state to fund programmes designed to meet social and developmental needs. It also helped fund many welfare schemes like BSKY, KALIA, Mission Shakti, large scale irrigation projects, Skill Development, Odisha School Transformation, Tribal Development, Disaster Management, Infrastructure development, poverty alleviation measures as well as fund its own food security scheme, Naveen further stated.
