Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has expressed his profound grief over the death of several persons in a tragic road accident near Haladiapadar in Berhampur.
Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Naveen said that he was deeply saddened to know about the heartbreaking road accident that occurred recently near Haladiapadar in Brahmapur, in which multiple individuals lost their lives and many others were injured.
He prayed for peace to the departed souls and extended condolences to the bereaved family members.
A major road accident was reported at Haladiapadar Square in Odisha’s Berhampur on Saturday, leaving five people dead after a truck collided with motorcycles on the National Highway.
According to reports, the truck was travelling on the wrong side of the National Highway when it hit multiple two-wheelers. The heavy vehicle reportedly rammed into three motorcycles and ran over the victims, including crushing their heads. Five people were killed on the spot in the collision.
Around ten others sustained injuries in the accident and were rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
