Naveen Condoles Demise of Former Sambalpur MLA Dr. Raseswari Panigrahi

Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik, President of the Biju Janata Dal and Leader of Opposition, on Monday expressed deep grief over the demise of former Sambalpur MLA Dr. Raseswari Panigrahi, who passed away in Sambalpur.

In a message posted on X, Naveen said he was saddened to learn about the passing of former Sambalpur MLA Dr. Raseswari Panigrahi. He recalled her distinguished service in healthcare and her dedication as a people’s representative, stating that her contributions would always be remembered.

Naveen prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Dr. Panigrahi breathed her last on Monday evening at her residence in the Shanti Nagar area of Sambalpur district. She was 79.

A trailblazer in medicine and public life, she served as Professor and Head of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at VIMSAR, Burla. She was widely respected for mentoring generations of doctors and for extending compassionate to underprivileged communities, particularly women.

Condolences also poured in from several leaders across party lines, who remembered her as a compassionate doctor and dedicated public servant whose legacy will endure.
