Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has invited views and suggestions from various government departments, officials, and stakeholders regarding pay structure, allowances, pension, and service conditions in connection with the upcoming Eighth Central Pay Commission.
In an official communication addressed to all departments of the state government, heads of departments, and district collectors, the Finance Department referred to a letter dated February 13, 2026, received from the Government of India. The letter was issued by the Member Secretary of the Eighth Central Pay Commission seeking inputs from stakeholders across the country.
The Central Government has constituted the Eighth Central Pay Commission to review the existing structure of pay, allowances, pensions, and other service conditions of central government employees and to recommend suitable revisions.
As part of this exercise, the Commission has circulated a detailed questionnaire seeking feedback on several aspects including pay structure, allowances, pension benefits, performance incentives, and broader service conditions. The questionnaire is available on the Commission’s portal as well as the MyGov platform for submission of responses.
The Union Government has requested state governments to widely disseminate the questionnaire so that all concerned stakeholders can submit their views.
Accordingly, the Odisha Finance Department has directed all administrative departments, heads of departments, and district collectors to circulate the questionnaire among subordinate offices, autonomous bodies, and field formations under their administrative control. They have also been asked to encourage officers, employees, and other stakeholders to submit their views directly on the designated portal.
Departments have further been requested to compile and send consolidated suggestions, if any, to the Finance Department for onward submission to the Commission.
The state government has asked all authorities concerned to accord the matter due priority to ensure broader participation in the consultation process related to the Eighth Central Pay Commission.
