Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported the first heatwave-related death.
The office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has confirmed the death.
The victim is a middle-aged person from the Balasore district. The State Government has sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 for the deceased’s family, the office of SRC said.
The Government has so far received 20 complaints of heat wave deaths across the State. The district Collectors have been directed to inquire about the validity of these complaints, the SRC stated.
