Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal President and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday urged the BJD MLAs to become the voice of the people of the state in Assembly.
Chairing the legislature party meeting of the BJD ahead of the Budget session, Naveen directed his party MLAs to fight for the rights of the people of Odisha.
He insisted them to raise issues concerning the people of the state in the Assembly.
The BJD supremo urged the party MLAs to highlight the government’s failure to protect the state’s interests despite the double engine government.
Naveen also came down heavily on the BJP government, accusing it of “incompetence” and “irresponsibility”.
He said that self-praise and blaming others is a sign of poor leadership and governance.
Naveen instructed the BJD legislators to hold the state government accountable for ignoring the interests of Odisha in Union budget.
