5T Secy Holds Discussion with Employees of Buses under LAccMI Scheme; Advises to Provide Selfless Service  

Bhubaneswar: Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian on Monday held discussion with the employees of buses under the LAccMI scheme and advised them to provide selfless service to the commuters.

As many as 650 employees including bus drivers, conductors and managers participated in this discussion.

It is worth noting that in the first phase, bus operations will be started in 6 districts of the southern region under the LAccMI scheme. These districts are – Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch this scheme for Malkangiri district on October 12. Under the LAccMI Scheme, the State Government plans to run buses from panchayat to block and from block to district headquarters.

Addressing the staff, the 5T Secretary said that communication is the basic basis of economic and social progress. So providing high quality service to people should be our first responsibility, he added. From small children to farmers, businessmen, Mission Shakti members, everyone will benefit from this bus scheme. School college children can go to their educational institutions. The farmer can take his produce and sell it in the market. Merchants can do business smoothly. Patients can access the facility at the hospital. Mission Shakti mothers will also find it easier to travel for their work.

Pandian further said that ‘Lakshmi’ is the symbol of prosperity. So this transport service will bring prosperity to the village and ensure economic development. It will bring transformation in rural areas.

He advised the bus staff to treat the passengers as their own family members. In this he emphasized on 3 ‘S’ – Surakhya (Safety), Subidha (Convenience) and Samman (Dignity).

Pandian said that it is the duty of the staff to take care of the safety of all, the convenience of the passengers and that everyone travels with dignity.
