Berhampur: Man Nabbed for Attempted Assault on Minor Girl 

Berhampur: A 29-year-old man was arrested today in connection with an attempted assault on a 14-year-old girl in the Housing Board area under Gosaninuagaon PS in Berhampur.

The accused, identified as G.Naresh Dora, was arrested following a complainant lodged by the victim’s mother, who works as a housemaid.

The victim was performing household chores at their employer’s residence due to her mother’s illness when Dora, a neighbor residing at EWS-32/1, Housing Board, approached her.

He allegedly offered the girl Rs. 500 and attempted to kiss her. When she resisted, Dora reportedly tore her clothing. The girl managed to escape and alerted others. The accused allegedly threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to the police.

Following a swift investigation, Dora was apprehended and presented before the court, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
