BJP Trying to Remove Secularism, Socialism from Constitution: Congress President Kharge

Bhubaneswar: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government, alleging that it is attempting to erase the principles of secularism and socialism from the Indian Constitution.

Speaking at the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Samavesh’ in Bhubaneswar on Friday, Kharge warned that the BJP’s actions threaten the rights of marginalized communities and the nation’s youth.

“The BJP government at the Centre is attempting to omit secularism and socialism from our Constitution,” Kharge declared, urging dalits, tribals, and youths to unite and fight for their rights.

He further accused BJP supporters of orchestrating attacks on dalits and government officials in Odisha, claiming the party is fostering an environment of intimidation.

Kharge also criticized the BJP’s economic policies, highlighting the privatization of 23 public sector undertakings (PSUs). He contrasted this with the Congress’s legacy of establishing 160 PSUs, accusing the BJP of undermining public assets built over decades.
