Bhubaneswar: A Pana distribution programme was organised today by Sampurna Ladies Club at Pristine Greens Phase–2, Pokhariput.
On this occasion, more than 110 litres of Pana was distributed among passersby, including construction workers, delivery personnel, auto and taxi drivers, as well as other citizens visiting the locality.
Keeping in view the intense heat being experienced in the capital city of Bhubaneswar, Sampurna Ladies Club has initiated this Jalachhatra as a support measure for passersby. The Jalachhatra was started on the occasion of Odia New Year and Pana Sankranti and will continue to function daily until the upcoming Labour Day. As part of this initiative, more than 100 litres of Pana is being distributed every day by members of the club.
The Pana distribution programme was coordinated by Suparna Mishra, Sanghamitra Satapathy, Mahua Ray, Smita Panda, Rashmi Gouda, Mrunmayee Mohapatra, Snehaprabha Das, Anima Das and Debashree Banerjee, along with other senior members of the club.
On this occasion, the President of Sampurna Ladies Club, Pratima Dash, said, “The Jalachhatra programme is a social initiative by the members of Sampurna Ladies Club. We especially aim to support construction workers, delivery personnel, auto and taxi drivers who continue to serve us tirelessly during this scorching summer. Through this initiative, our primary objective is to assist these workers by keeping them hydrated and healthy during the scorching heat of summer.”
