Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has expressed deep concern and anguish over the deeply disturbing incident reported from the Brahmagiri area of Puri district, where a 6-year-old minor girl has allegedly been raped under the jurisdiction of Brahmagiri Police Station.
Considering the gravity and sensitivity of the matter, the BJD has constituted a delegation team to visit the affected area and meet the victim’s family. The delegation will assess the situation on the ground, interact with local police officials and school authorities, and gather relevant information regarding the incident.
The delegation aims to ensure that justice is delivered swiftly and that all necessary support is extended to the victim and her family. The team will also review the circumstances surrounding the incident and submit a detailed report to the party president for further action.
The members of the BJD delegation team are Sulata Deo, MP (Rajya Sabha), Tukuni Sahu (Ex-Minister), Sarmistha Sethi (Ex-MP), Umakanta Samantaray (Ex-MLA), Tusharkanti Behera (MLA), Swapna Rani Swain, Ratnamala Behera, Pushpanjali Rana and Manasi Harichandan.
The Biju Janata Dal reiterates its commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of women and children and calls for strict and exemplary action against those responsible for such heinous crimes. The party has constituted this delegation to ensure a fair assessment of the situation and to stand in solidarity with the victim’s family, the BJD said in a press release.
