Berhampur: Man Arrested for Stalking Minor Girl

Berhampur: A 51-year-old man was arrested by Gosaninuagaon Police for allegedly stalking and harassing a 15-year-old girl.

The accused has been identified as Sanyasi Pradhan alias Sania, who resides in Minakhi Nagar Chaka, under Gosaninuagaon PS.

On July 30, 2025, at around 9 PM, the girl’s father lodged a written complaint at Gosaninuagaon PS, alleging that Pradhan had been stalking his daughter for six months while she attended dance classes. The accused reportedly tampered with the complainant’s bicycle by deflating its tires, used obscene language against the family, and threatened them by banging on their door.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under Section 296/78/351(2) BNS RW sec 12 POCSO Act. Following investigation, Pradhan was arrested on July 31, 2025, and presented in court, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.

Pradhan has prior criminal cases and is currently out on bail for other charges.
