Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday approved seven proposals of six different departments.
The proposals have been approved at the 24th meeting of the State Cabinet held at the Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja briefed the media about the decisions taken in the Cabinet meeting.
During the meeting, a total of seven proposals from six departments were discussed and approved.
The proposals include one each from Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Cooperation, Finance, Commerce & Transport and Health & Family Welfare Departments and two from H&UD Department.
As per decision, a separate Directorate of Museums has been approved to streamline operations across Odisha’s state museums.
The Cabinet approved a proposal by the Cooperation Department to launch a new State Plan Scheme for setting up “Model Mandis” to modernise the agricultural marketing ecosystem, improve farmers’ market access, reduce post-harvest losses, and ensure fair prices for produce.
Under the plan, 38 Model Mandis will be developed in the first phase — one in each district — including 14 large, 17 medium, and 7 small facilities. Locations have been finalised after extensive fieldwork. In the second phase, another 62 mandis will be upgraded to Model Mandi status.
The Cabinet has also given its approval to proposal to improve the drinking water supply system in Sambalpur Town, aiming to provide 24×7 water supply to all households in Sambalpur, Hirakud, and Burla towns.
Similarly, a proposal for framing the “Odisha Nursing Education Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2025” has been approved at the Cabinet meeting. This decision aims to establish a standardized recruitment process for nursing faculties in government colleges and ANM training centres across the state.
