Bhubaneswar: The major floodlight failure at the Barabati Stadium during the second ODI between India and England has brought a bad name for Odisha, said the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
BJD MLA Arun Sahoo has strongly criticized the BJP-led state government over floodlight failure leading to disruption of the prestigious sporting event for around 30 minutes on Sunday.
He raised questions about the state government’s commitment toward organizing international matches.
The incident has brought a bad reputation for Odisha, the senior BJD leader added.
Congress MLA Sofia Firdous also came down heavily on the government for the fiasco at the Barabati stadium.
She said what happened at the Barabati Stadium is a very unfortunate and an impartial investigation should be carried out into the incident.
The shocking incident has left both the BJP government and the Odisha Cricket Association red-faced.
