Berhampur: Ex-Aadhaar Operations Head Arrested for Alleged ₹46 Lakh Fraud

Berhampur: Police on Wednesday arrested the former Aadhaar operations head of Bloom Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, on charges of cheating, criminal intimidation and alleged misappropriation of company funds amounting to ₹46 lakh.

The accused, Satyanarayana Seela alias Shiva (40), a native of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh and currently residing at Radha Madhav Nivas, Suraj Vihar in Berhampur, had been serving as the District Coordinator for Ganjam. A case has been registered at Berhampur Town Police Station.

According to the complaint lodged by Undapalli Srinivas, the company’s Project Manager, the accused was placed under temporary suspension after he allegedly failed to clear outstanding liabilities of ₹46,00,000 despite repeated reminders through emails, virtual interactions and physical meetings.

Even after his suspension, he allegedly threatened company operators and senior officials through WhatsApp texts and voice messages, warning that he would “shut down the company in Odisha,” thereby interfering with lawful operations.

The complaint further stated that on December 26, 2025, he, along with 20–30 supporters, allegedly staged an unauthorized protest at the OCAC premises in Bhubaneswar without prior permission. The assembly reportedly disrupted official functioning and harmed the company’s reputation.

In another incident on December 30, the accused allegedly contacted operators over phone and also visited some at their residences, where he is said to have coerced them into granting remote access to official computer systems through the AnyDesk application. After gaining access, he allegedly attempted to bypass UIDAI software and obtained email passwords and login credentials, posing a serious threat to data security and compliance.

Based on inputs from affected staff, the company apprehends that five to ten systems may still remain under unauthorized control, either through remote access or malicious software.

Following the complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up. After prima facie evidence was established, the accused was arrested on Wednesday and forwarded to court, Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M informed.
