Bhubaneswar: The Biju Mahila Janata Dal, the women’s wing of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), staged a massive rally in Bhubaneswar today, protesting against BJP MLA Santosh Khatua for his alleged derogatory remarks against women.
The BJD demanded immediate arrest of the MLA while condemning the rising incidents of atrocities against women in Odisha and the perceived inaction of the BJP-led state government.
The rally, led by the Bhubaneswar organizational district unit of the BJD, saw party leaders and activists vociferously criticizing Khatua for his offensive comments targeting BJD leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar.
The BJD women leaders accused the BJP government of fostering an environment of impunity, pointing to the increasing cases of violence and harassment against women over the past year.
