Naveen Condoles Demise of Former Union Minister Shivraj Patil

Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik has expressed his profound grief over the demise of former Speaker of Lok Sabha and former Union Minister Shivraj Patil.

In a statement, Naveen said that he was deeply saddened to know about the passing away of former Speaker of Lok Sabha.

The veteran politician will be remembered for his leadership, his dedication to serve people and contribution to national building, the BJD President said.

The former Union Minister passed away on Friday in Maharashtra’s Latur district following a brief illness. He was 90.

Patil had a political career of five decades, where he held several positions in the Central government, including Speaker of the Lok Sabha and several ministries.
