Naveen Congratulates Justice BR Gavai on Being Sworn in as 52nd CJI

Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik has congratulated Justice BR Gavai on being sworn in as the 52nd Chief Justice of India.

“Congratulate Justice BR Gavai on being sworn in as the 52nd Chief Justice of India. Wish him the very best for a fulfilling tenure ahead”, Naveen wrote on his ‘X’ handle.

President Droupadi Murmu, in exercise of powers under Article 124(2) of the Constitution, had appointed Justice Gavai, the senior most Judge of the Supreme Court, as Chief Justice of India, and the Ministry of Law and Justice had later notified his appointment on April 29.

Justice Gavai will have a tenure of over six months, and he will demit the highest judicial office of the country on November 23, 2025.
