Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has conducted simultaneous raids at four locations connected to Asit Kumar Pattanayak, Deputy Ranger of Bisra Forest Range under Rourkela Forest Division, Sundargarh after arresting him on May 20 for accepting an Rs 18,000 bribe.
Pattanayak demanded the bribe from a vehicle owner to release hire charges for a vehicle used for official purposes.
Simultaneous searches were carried out at four locations linked to Pattanayak uncovered significant assets.
Vigilance sleuths seized ₹8.37 lakh in cash and approximately 390 grams of gold ornaments from Pattanayak’s residence in Basanti Colony, Rourkela.
