Berhampur: Police ASI Arrested for Accepting Bribe in Domestic Violence Case

Berhampur: Babita Suna, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) at Mahila Police Station, Berhampur, was apprehended today by the Odisha Vigilance for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.

The incident occurred while Suna, who was the investigating officer in a domestic violence case, demanded the bribe from a complainant to facilitate assistance in the matter.

A case has been registered against her under Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No. 7/2025, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

The investigation is ongoing, with Vigilance sleuths probing further details of the incident.
