Cuttack: Odisha DGP Y.B. Khurania has praised Constable/1 Tulu Behera for his extraordinary bravery in saving 44-year-old Md. Mujahir at Cuttack Railway Station at 8:05 a.m. today.
The incident occurred when Md. Mujahir, a resident of Mirjapur, Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, slipped while attempting to board the moving Train No. 22503 (Kanyakumari–Dibrugarh Express) bound for Kishanganj.
As Mujahir nearly fell into the deadly gap between the platform and the train’s wheels, Constable Behera acted swiftly, grabbing Mujahir’s hands and pulling him to safety.
The DGP announced a reward of Rs 2,500 for Behera’s quick thinking and courage. Arun Bothra, ADG, Coastal Security and Railways, also commended Behera for his presence of mind.
Constable Behera’s heroic act has earned widespread admiration, showcasing the dedication of Odisha’s police force to public safety.
