Berhampur: In a continued effort to strengthen law and order and enhance public confidence in policing, the Inspector In-Charges (IICs) of all police stations under the Berhampur Police District have undertaken intensive foot patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring a stronger and more visible police presence in public spaces while fostering closer interaction between police personnel and local residents, said Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
Senior officers are personally leading patrols across marketplaces, residential localities, busy roads and other sensitive areas to maintain strict vigil and address public concerns on the spot.
The community-oriented exercise is intended to deter criminal and anti-social activities, enhance public safety, and strengthen trust between citizens and the police administration. During the patrols, officers are also interacting with shopkeepers, commuters and residents to gather feedback and promptly resolve grievances related to security and law enforcement.
According to the Berhampur Police, such foot patrolling drives will continue on a regular basis as part of proactive policing measures aimed at maintaining peace, ensuring swift response to incidents, and creating a safer environment for the public.
